In 1972 Antoni Llobet moved to Barcelona, as many others, including myself.
I remember as if it were today, when I first visited his workshop in the neighborhood of Guinardó in Barcelona. Upon entering I noticed the authenticity of this painter who, without any appeal figurative element informer, made me travel in the memory of our land, its colors, ditches, canals and roads were the piece. That day I fell in love because of their work.
In the matter that subtly incorporates to his canvases, wood or paper - for him no matter suport- guess the warm landscapes with various shades of ocher land dry and / or wet reddish tones and different of yellow maize.
Llobet grown abstraction with the seriousness of an alchemist and sometimes includes some mysterious element that suggests a tree or animals that make you think life could be.
In contrast to the land are also protagonists in many of his works the sky and water: the blue...!
You look very heaven Antoni? Or is the sea to dry land and catches us with its mystery? Lines drawn on land -in the same way as farmers when the plot fields- are shooting stars in the sky and in the water, transparencies of sunlight or fish.
... My friend…You've traveled several ways, right? Your work has been seen in different parts of the world; but that can read your resume; and now, with the exhibition that shows our beloved Lleida, asked me to write a few lines by way of introduction, which honors me. Do you remember the last exhibition titled "With Accent Lleida" with Guinovart, Joanpere Massana Perico Pastor and Jaume Roure? (Take this opportunity to honor those who sadly we lack: the Fox and Benedict). I think that was the last I "hang" your work in my gallery.
Toni: is it my imagination? I've seen in your picture a tree surrounded by fog and ice, do not believe in another, "the Marraco" spied behind an orange stain.
