On Saturday, March 7, the exhibition "Piqué: Plural" that inaugurates the figure of the Tarragona-born painter and sculptor Josep Piqué Iserte opens at the Antoni Pinyol Gallery in Reus.
Born in Montbrió del Camp in 1913 and died in 2012 at age 99, Josep Piqué cultivated the various artistic disciplines through a restless spirit and an expressive and creative drive that always accompanied him. In addition to painting, sculpture and, his profession, architecture, he came to work on the design of furniture, carpets and tapestries, collage and music.
This exhibition, organized by the Josep Piqué Iserte Art Foundation, wants to show the plural character of its creation and collects pictorial works, collages, iron and bronze sculptures, to make known an artist who hatched in maturity in an enthusiastic way, prolific and personal, and that generated a style of his own arising from the innate creativity and baggage of his knowledge of European avant-garde.
