Miquel Falgàs, after winning the 26th Telax Prize in the painting section, presents his solo exhibition at the Antoni Pinyol Gallery on Saturday, January 12, at an opening that will feature the performance of Mr. Anthony on the bass and DJ A. Pulido.
Coming from the world of graffiti and urban art, Falgàs reflects on what surrounds this trend, both in its most essential nature, as ephemeral art and on the individual need to leave evidence, as in its most controversial connotations.
The work of Falgàs consists of traces, marks and prints influenced by the practice of graffiti. Through the superposition of different spots and strokes marked by a strong spontaneity, he creates different layers that, while creating a new form, censor of previous ones, reflecting on the own ephemeral nature of graffiti.
Miquel Falgàs (Reus, 1993) has exhibited in various spaces between Tarragona and Valencia, as well as having intervened on numerous occasions in the public space through graffiti and mural painting since he was a teenager. Currently, after completing the degree of Applied Arts to the Wall at the School of Art and Design of Tarragona, he is finishing his studies in Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
