After winning the 27th Telax Prize in the installation category, the young artist Alsira Monforte takes us into her world full of memories - and forgetfulness - in the exhibition “Childhood Attics”, which will open on November 9 at 1pm at Antoni Pinyol Gallery in Reus.
“Childhood Attics” aims to explore the natal house of the artist and its familiar heritage, through the accumulation and abandonment of objects. Monforte works with the antique, old and marginal object; analyzing its temporal meaning which looks back on a period, an essence or a subject, becoming a memory agent and also an “experiencies carrier”. Thereby, through the installation, recreates a “scenography of oblivion”, aiming to wake the sleeping memories and extracting subjective experiences from the domestic space.
Despite her youth, Alsira Monforte (Zamora, 1992) has exhibited her work around the peninsula, both in individual exhibitions and in collective and art fairs, which have led her to receive numerous awards and scholarships, the most recent, of the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators.
