The artist Joan Artigas Planas shows his sculptural work focused on the female figure - "my inspiration is women, I like to model the female body with its game of curves and sinuosities" - explains. Figures worked in bronze settle in iron constructions that, at first, were simple bases but now they are part of the sculpture, constructivist elements increasingly complex. "They are luxurious but inaccessible towers, the goddess that observes humanity from its loneliness, the woman who overcomes the daily obstacles, a woman doing dance steps, etc.", adds Artigas Planas. The references of the artist are the Russian constructivism and the work of the Basque sculptors Oteiza and Chillida.
Joan Artigas Planas (Vilassar de Dalt, 1960) graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, ??arranges his work as a sculptor with teaching at the School of Art and Design Superior Pau Gargallo in Badalona.
