We grow and we leave our childhood behind. We watch the children enjoying the summer joyfully. We can recognize ourselves in them, but we can not avoid looking at them with nostalgia, because we know that we will not be able to go back. But melancholy is in those who look not in those who play. The childhood and especially the summers of childhood, have become for us adults, in lost paradises. Despite this, its luminosity accompanies us, even though we can barely remember those years.
In the pictures of this series appear children absorbed in their summer activities. They are natural and full of vitality. However, something underlies. And is that despite the obvious realism, the images are far from the photographic. The most constructed coexists with drawing, collage and abstract stain. The pictorial resources conform a kind of subjective realism that incites poetic memory. The exhibition "The Invincible Summer" seeks the viewer's empathy, invites him to look into his life experience. But as I have pointed out before, the adult gaze is neither objective nor naive and carries a few simple childish games of its existential understanding. However, despite the possible melancholy, it is inevitable to let go and be, for a brief moment, one of those children. Then the invisible summer of our childhood proves to be, even for a moment, truly invincible.
