Jumping to the void. In suspension, without a fear of what is underneath is the emotion appreciated in Luis Coqueñao’s artworks. Booth of them show the pause before walking, a suspended instant that moves our interest in knowing what is on the next step. Everything, without losing the beauty and aesthetic of every situation. The landscape purity versus the courage of the jump.
Luis Coqueñao and his evocation of wild and nature (from the outside as well as from the inside) is made through a fluid and transparent paint that, as happens to the watercolour painting once it wet’s the paper, somehow generates precise forms in a unprecise way, by stains and discern gestures, spaces and lights. The observer has to let the image take over, dissolve and fall on it as who gets lost in the depths of a haiku.
Jumpers by Marta Fàbregas, are brave and pioneer women. Women that awaken us from the eternal unconsciousness, that inspire us and make us grow.
Women that steps forward, capable of jumping, to throwing themselves to the void holding their breath and…fly.
Here is where we find the dialog between the artworks by Luís Coquñao and Marta Fàbregas. Spaces, outlooks or more like realities that those brave people once faced.
It clarifies the poetic of the image, no further than our reality: the past and present women faced to diverse realities, unfavourable or ion favour; but all of them open to the free interpretation of the observer.
